Before you know it Spring will soon be upon us, and the weather hopefully will be much warmer. So in order to prepare for the new season you can start to get your home ready in time for this, as you say goodbye to the Winter season. So if you are lacking inspiration, here are some suggestions on what you can do to make your home ready for Spring.

Declutter and Reorganise

It’s always good to have a declutter at the start of each season as it feels like you are starting afresh. It’s very easy to accumulate a lot of belongings so being able to organise your possessions will allow you to decide whether there are any items you can sell or give to charity. It will free up more space for you in your home which is certainly a positive, and helps make your home feel more spacious. You could start with a particular room in your home and make your way through each room until you have decluttered the entire house.

Rearrange The Furniture

A simple way to create a fresh new look is to simply move around the furniture with the items you already have. You might find that you prefer the new layout and have more space to move around the room. It’s a very simple and cost effective way to create a new look.

Get Those Windows Sparkling Again

You want to let in as much natural light as possible when the days get longer, so in order to do that you will need some nice clean windows. If you haven’t cleaned them for a while or they are difficult to reach then you could always call in some window cleaning experts to help you get them sparkling again. The cleaner the windows are, the more light there will be inside your home which will make it nice and airy.

Add Some Bright Coloured Accessories

Spring is all about vibrant, fresh colours. So to include this in your home without having to decorate an entire room you could buy some brightly coloured cushions and throws to add some colour in your living room or bedroom space. It will add a nice touch and make the room feel lighter and bright.

Include Indoor Plants

Nothing quite says Spring then an abundance of lovely fresh flowers and plants inside your home. They instantly brighten up the space and also provide a lovely natural fragrance when you walk into the room. So why not include some indoor plants into your home as a way to brighten up the look and feel of the place. It will certainly get you in the Spring mood.

Bring Out The Garden Furniture

If it has been stored away for winter, then your garden furniture is probably going to need a bit of a clean before you can use it. Depending on the type of garden furniture you have, you should be able to wash it down with water and some washing up liquid or just use a wet sponge to wipe it down. This will get rid of any excess dirt and make it suitable for use when you want to sit down in the garden. You can then add some bright coloured cushions as well to make it more comfortable and also spruce up the look a bit.

Wash The Patio and Decking Area

There is probably an abundance of leaves and general dirt that is currently sitting on your patio or decking area which easily accumulates over the winter months. So to get this area ready for the milder weather, give it a wash down with the hose and remove any weeds in between the gaps. It will instantly brighten up the look and feel of your garden, ready for when you need to use it.

Paint Your Front Door

You want the exterior of your home to look as vibrant and fresh as the interior. So why not paint it a lovely bright colour to freshen up the front of your home. It will certainly be a lot more cheerful than a dreary brown or black coloured front door. You can then add some potted plants as well around your front door to really brighten up the space and make it look nice and fresh.

Within no time you will have your home looking fresh, spacious and airy, just in time for the Spring season.
